The Ant and The Cricket Story in English

An ant was busy collecting and storing food. She worked hard all the summer and spring. The silly cricket did nothing except sing and hop around. When winter came the ant sat cozily at home and ate whenever she. felt hungry. She had stored enough food to last the whole winter. The cricket felt hun-gry too but there was nothing he could find. At last, he went to the ant and begged for food. At first, the ant refused but took pity on the hungry cricket. “We ants never lend nor borrow. But did you not save anything in the summer and spring? she asked. “The weather was so good that I sang,” the cricket replied. “You sang !”, she said, ‘Well then dance the winter away.” Saying this she turned the poor cricket out of her house. The cricket remained hungry for the season.
