The main duty of a student is to pursue his study in full earnest. As a student, he has to acquire knowledge in different fields which can be useful to him in his life.
The knowledge the student gains in his school or college is generally not of a specialised type. Its purpose is to broaden the horizons of his mind.
The student unrest in certain cases arises due to several reasons, including the fact that the student is quite awakened.
He knows that he is paying heavy fees and other charges for which his parents might have even taken loans, but his prospects in life are bleak in view of the rampant unemployment in all spheres.
Sometimes, students go on strike. The cause is genuine sometimes. Sometimes, it is just vague or is only an excuse to have certain days off from studies.
The students should realize that studies are in their own interest and to take off-days without any rhyme or reason can do them no good. Instead, they should concentrate on their studies and become great scholars, scientists, and artists, etc. in life.
If they have any genuine grievances, they should approach the class teacher or the Principal. Many such grievances can also be redressed at student-parent-teacher meetings.
Sometimes, students are misled by crafty politicians. Students should be wary of such politicians. They should reject active politics. Even school and college elections must be held in a peaceful atmosphere and in a fairway.
