On the other hand, when things go wrong it becomes news. Therefore news means bad news and no news is good news. It is obvious that this is true only under certain conditions and not always. It is particularly applicable to routine matters. When people are in good health it is not worth mentioning. Similarly, when business is running according to the plans there is nothing to report. The fact that there is no news to convey is itself good news. The information that all is well is not ‘news’ in the real sense of the word.
