The mathematician who enlightened all directions with his intelligence, was born into a poor family in the village of Kumbhakonam situated in the southern part of India. Though living in poor conditions, without bothering about his problems, diseases, and hardships he started doing new research in the field of Mathematics from his childhood. His research is in the different branches of Mathematics. Fortunately, he met Prof. Hardy, who was staying in England; and this meeting made Ramanujan’s research known to people. Due to his total engrossment in Mathematics, Ramanujan ignored his health and became prone to various diseases at an early age and as a result met with death. But his great work continues to inspire mathematicians in the whole world even today.
