As we live in a world of Information and technology, every day some brand new tools are introduced in our arsenal of gadgets and software. As I am a freelance Cinematographer & Editor, I keep shooting at multiple locations. And after I am done editing that particular video, delivering the video becomes a difficult task if the file size is more than or around a gigabyte and has to be sent over the internet.
WWW.WETRANSFER.COM is one such tool; a cloud-based computer file transfer service that helps us to send a file up to 20 GB at a given time.
I first used this website in 2013 as my regular email did not allow me to send a file over 25 MB and since then I was hooked onto it. Almost every other day when a video comes out of my studio, I log into my WeTransfer account and send it with utmost ease.
WeTransfer was founded in Amsterdam by Bas Beerens and Nalden. One can use the core service for free where files up to 2 GB can be emailed and WeTransfer ‘Plus’ holds premium accounts offering data limit up to 20 GB, password protection, channel customisation and up to 100 GB data storage.
I personally owe a lot to this website as it has made my deliveries easy and saved a lot of my commute time. I can give my own look and feel to my personalized profile, choose my own background images and even customise my emails. So it’s a one-stop shop for all my mailing and online data storage needs.
