A. man of weak character collapses when he is caned upon to face a difficult problem or situation. But great men are always men of great character. They never lose courage and hope in any crisis. As a matter of fact, they prove to be at their best only when they are under some pressure. Adversity is thus a test of character. It exposes the weakness of the weak man. It gives the strong man an opportunity to prove his strength.
