The debate on mixing your professional life with your personal space has taken the forefront in recent times, for the millennials who are the product of globalization. However, it is not as simple as it sounds. There are many gray areas with many people who support the mixing of two, and many who are against it.

To look at the positive aspects, engaging oneself in a more informal and personal way can go a long way in forming a long term professional relationships with the peers. It can also make the colleagues more comfortable to work with in group projects that would result in more effective and efficient work. Socializing with coworkers can make the workplace more fun and enjoyable which will then naturally benefit the organization. However, to see the downside, if colleagues become too busy with sharing their matters, it can lead to gossips and no work per se. Also, taking professional matters home might result in tensions at home and affect the relationship among family members.

This is well-exemplified from the experience of a man who used to be tensed and tired because of the weight of work he was carrying on his shoulders. As a result, he neglected his family & spiritual development and only focused on his work to attain materialistic possessions. It finally leads to a complete breakdown of the household.

Hence, it can be concluded that there should be a reasonable balance between the private and professional life as taking it to the extremities can have an adverse effect on the lives of people.
