The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education- Einstein. What does he mean by that? And do you think he is correct?
One of the biggest perquisites of life is education. We thrive in the world which tells us to let our imaginations run wild but at the same time hinders us from using our creativity. This statement of Einstein who was a school dropout and still became successful in his life meant that schools have turned into robot manufacturing institutes and they hinder the growth of imagination in students. I strongly agree with this statement that education is interfering with learning and this essay will discuss it in detail.
Education is just limited to the textbooks and understanding of your teachers where the basic aim of education was to develop skills and knowledge. Einstein felt that education was not letting him utilize his full potential and stopping his creativity. If Einstein had caved and followed the path like everyone else then we would have a different path today. there are many people like who followed the same path and are greatly successful such as Abraham Lincoln, William Shakespeare, Steve jobs, Henry Ford etc.
For example, engineering students are given their textbooks and taught by teachers on the functioning of the machines. They are taught about the basic concept of its functionality and are expected to follow the guidelines of the project only. This restricts them to think out of the box and they do what they are told to do. Real learning is using the knowledge to innovate and create something new which education does not support.
To conclude, the standard teaching system provides a very narrow scope of development in the process of learning. It serves as a huge obstacle for one to realize their potential and progress.
