PTE Academic Speaking Describe Image Practice Sample – Look at the Process image below. This is a long-answer item type that assesses speaking skills and requires test takers to describe an image from given an academic source.

#1 Describe the image given below-

The linear diagram demonstrates the process of brick manufacturing.

The process of brick manufacturing starts with the digging of clay with the help of diggers. After which it is processed in metal grid roller in next step with the addition of water and sand. The mixture of clay, sand, and water is kept in either kept in different molds or cut down through wire cutter to give it shape. In next step, raw bricks are kept in drying oven for almost 24 to 48 hours. After which bricks goes to cooling chambers where it is kept for 48 -72 hours. In end, bricks are packed and ready for delivery.

#2 Describe the image given below-

The diagram illustrates the life cycle process of a silkworm.

The life cycle of a silkworm starts from eggs which are laid by mother worm. And within 10 days, the silkworm larva is hatched from eggs. The silkworm larva eats mulberry leaves for around 4-6 weeks in the second stage of life cycle. In the third stage of life cycle, larva creates silk thread shells. After 3-8 days, an oval shaped cocoon is created. In the fourth stage of the cycle, moth comes out exactly after 16 days of a cocoon. And again process continues with laying of eggs.
