With the rise of e-books comes the decline in paper books. Some people see this as a good forward step while others do not. What are advantages and disadvantages of this trend?
The advancement of technology has changed the face of reading. The traditional way of learning is on the verge of end. People prefer technology over paper books. As e-books have many pros over cons of paper books. The invention of different types of gadgets has laid helping hand for everyone. Ebooks are handier than paper books. Anyone can access to e-books with in the fraction of seconds from their gadgets. While handling paper books is costly and difficult.
Ebooks are the cheapest way of learning. People can buy e-books in lowest rate as compared to paper books. It is also said to be eco-friendly. In order to print books on paper, trees have to cut which affect the environment. We can store unlimited data on a small chip for long use. Also, the reader doesn’t have to visit different shops to buy books. Everything is just a click away from the user.
On the other hand, some of the finest writings of authors are only on papers. To provide such type of writing on technology is the costliest method. People still prefer to go to libraries to know and read. Though libraries are affected by technology change it can’t be ceased to exist.
E-Books are also affecting the health of reader. As people spend more time on their gadgets which are not good for eyes either. Those saved books can be vanished due to some technical error or virus. But still, paper books will be there safe
To conclude, e-books are much easier to access in respect of paper books. Ebooks have affected libraries on large scale. But libraries are also on the verge of changing with providing access to some of costliest e-books with paper journals.
